Happy Valentines Day!
We had a brilliant Valentines Day today celebrating our loved ones with music, gifts, laughter and a whole lot of love! Thank you to the beautiful Ellie from Cut Some Rug for visiting us at Coppermill Care and for helping Danielle, our lovely Activities Coordinator, prepare cute little gifts for our residents! The residents thoroughly enjoyed the Disco, dancing, music and laughter, as well as having thoughtful, kind and loving guests in the home!
We have also had a very busy week leading up to Valentines, as we prepared cards for each other and our loved ones and also created love hearts for our Valentines Tree! We think it looks wonderful and the residents were so proud of their creation too!
Creative activities are so important for the elderly to engage in. Research on activities such as music, theatre, dance, creative writing, arts and crafts, shows promise for improving older adults’ quality of life and well-being, from better cognitive function, memory, and self-esteem to reduced stress and increased social interaction. This is why we are so active at Coppermill Care with planning and carrying out varied, interesting, fun and social activities for our residents each day! Their quality of life is so important to us and we are luckily to have a brilliant Activities team who care so much!
