Embracing our Creativity

24/01/2025

Creative activities can significantly improve the quality of life and the mental well being of the elderly. Being creative helps with memory, self-esteem, cognitive functions and also reduce stress, anxiety and depression.
At Hayes Park Nursing Home, we love promoting the creativity skills of our residents. They have been busy recently creating poems, sharing and reading them to each other and enjoying listening to each others poems too. Expressing themselves and being creative has been so beneficial to our residents and we can really feel a sense of calm within them all.
We have also been busy creating designs for kites! Some of the designs have been absolutely gorgeous and we are so excited to get these designs transferred over to our individual kites when the weather is a bit warmer. This kite design activity has really promoted the individuality of our residents and they have loved expressing themselves through art!
If you have other creative craft ideas that we can try in our home, please do get in touch! We would love to hear from you!
