Our care home

Broadmead Residential Home

At Broadmead Residential Home, we are committed to developing a comfortable, caring and stimulating environment that meets the individual needs of all of our residents. Our kind and caring team do all they can to promote independence, create a homely environment and ensure that the people we care for are happy, comfortable and content in their surroundings.

Who we support

Set just outside Newbury, close to the Hampshire/Berkshire border, Broadmead Resthome can support up to 38 residents with a range of needs, including dementia care and residential care.

Our caring approach

Our mission to deliver high quality care which enhances quality of life for the people we support. We help our residents to lead fulfilling lives, with care that’s personalised to their individual needs and wishes.

For us, “quality care” means ensuring that every individual’s goals and needs are met.

Broadmead

Residential care home in the heart of newbury

Broadmead Residential Home is part an old converted building and part purpose-built, providing a mix of spaces and environments which meet all needs. A recent extension and upgrade project was completed in recent years, resulting in Broadmead winning a ‘best regeneration award’ at a national healthcare design event in 2018. The renovation enabled us to significantly upgrade the facilities on offer at Broadmead Residential Home, including the addition of ensuite wet rooms to all bedrooms, a jacuzzi bathroom, enhanced communal space, a hairdressing salon and a secure enclosed garden.

With a homely approach and comfortable style, Broadmead Residential Home is equipped with modern facilities, fully wheelchair accessible and visitors pod, striking a perfect balance between clinical excellence and comfortable living. Broadmead was also a finalist in the Pinders 2018 Best Regeneration Project.

Our bedrooms

A private and welcoming space to call your own

Our bedrooms are designed to provide each individual with a private, welcoming and safe place which promotes a good night’s sleep. Each bedroom features an en-suite wet room, a profiling bed with specialist pressure relieving mattresses, television and an internet telephone to help people stay in touch with friends and relatives.

Each room is decorated in a modern yet homely style and finished to a high standard. Residents are encouraged to personalise their room by decorating it with cherished possessions such as pictures, photos, ornaments and other personal items. Although all rooms are fully furnished, some residents like to bring in small items of their own furniture. Personalising rooms can help people to settle in, enhance their sense of identity and provide useful and important talking-points for the staff to engage people in meaningful conversation.

It is run like a cosy, loving family home. The care the residents receive here is extraordinary, treated with consideration, dignity, kindness and respect they feel valued and listened to.

Sometimes it’s the little things that matter to them like having their nails painted or on their birthday being
surprised by a dream. Recently an array of tractors visited one resident.
It is lovely just to relax in the knowledge that your relative is loved and so well cared for in such a homely environment.
