Welcome to The Lindens

We are a warm, caring residential home nestled in the heart of Stoke Hammond, where every person we support is treated with dignity, respect and a true sense of belonging.

Who we support

We provide 24-hour private care for up to 60 residents, offering both permanent and short-term stays, including respite care. Whether you’re staying for a few days or making The Lindens your long-term home, our focus is always the same: your comfort, well-being and happiness.

Our caring and experienced team support people with a range of needs, including support with day-to-day living, dementia, from mild to moderate stages, physical disabilities or mobility difficulties, Parkinson’s disease, stroke recovery, end-of-life care and respite care.

We work hard to create a supportive, understanding environment where people can live with independence, purpose and peace of mind.

Our Care

Our caring approach

Our mission is to deliver high-quality care in a warm and comfortable environment.

We support our residents to lead fulfilling lives through personalised care tailored to their individual needs and wishes.

For us, “quality care” means ensuring that every individual’s hopes, goals and needs are met. We do this by:

  • Maximising independence and opportunity for every person living at The Lindens
  • Understanding and supporting individual identity and sense of self-worth
  • Respecting people’s choices

Our building

Our charming house dates back to 1878 and forms the core of The Lindens.

Surrounded by beautiful grounds and countryside views, we’ve created an environment that feels like home – comfortable, peaceful and full of life.

While the main building features charming, characterful period features, the stunning Garden and Meadow Wings offer modern, spacious rooms with easy access to patios and seating areas and beautiful views over our extensive gardens and surrounding countryside. Other amenities include a hairdressing salon and a cosy tea room for relaxed chats over a cuppa.

Here at The Lindens Care Home, you will have access to a wide range of activities and amenities. We have three lounge rooms, a large communal dining room, a level patio area, a laundrette facility and consultation rooms within our garden wing.

In contrast to its elegant historical surroundings, The Lindens features modern facilities and is fully wheelchair accessible, striking a perfect balance between excellent care and comfortable living.

Our location

We are located in Stoke Hammond, a charming village near Milton Keynes, known for its picturesque countryside and friendly community.

We welcome residents from the local area, including Milton Keynes and other parts of Buckinghamshire.

Our elegant Victorian home stands proudly amid beautifully kept gardens and stunning countryside, while being close to the amenities of Milton Keynes. From the moment you arrive, you’ll feel a sense of belonging, friendship and genuine care that makes The Lindens so much more than just a place to live.

Our bedrooms

Each of our 57 spacious bedrooms is a private, welcoming and safe space where residents can truly feel at home.

Every room includes its own en-suite bathroom and has been thoughtfully designed to promote comfort, dignity and a good night’s sleep. Several larger rooms are available for those who prefer a larger room or for couples who wish to stay together.

Residents enjoy 24-hour care and support, with care call systems in place for peace of mind at any time of day or night. Each room also features a personal TV, Wi-Fi access and ample space and storage for treasured belongings, photos and furnishings. iPads are available for keeping in touch with loved ones.

We encourage residents to make their rooms their own by decorating them with cherished possessions – —family photos, favourite ornaments, or meaningful keepsakes. While all rooms come fully furnished, many residents choose to bring a few small pieces of their own furniture to add a familiar touch of home. Personalising each space helps new residents settle in comfortably, enhances their sense of identity and home and provides our team with conversation starters that often help to build genuine, meaningful connections.

Communal areas

At The Lindens, life is centred around warmth, connection, and community.

As well as looking and tasting good, meals are tailored to the dietary requirements of all residents, including gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian diets. Our dining room is the hub of life at The Lindens. We see mealtimes as an opportunity to socialise and enjoy chatting over delicious food. However, with dignity, respect and personal choice at the heart of all we do, residents can eat in the privacy of their own room if they wish. In addition to our daily menus, Tiffany’s Tea Room provides a lovely place to have a brew, a sweet treat and a chat with friends and visitors. Everybody is made to feel welcome and there’s plenty to choose from with our food and drink options.

Alongside our comfortable bedrooms, residents enjoy a variety of inviting communal spaces designed for relaxation, friendship and fun. We have three welcoming lounge rooms, a large communal dining room, a bright, level patio area and accessible gardens where residents can enjoy fresh air and sunshine. Within our Garden Wing, you’ll also find a launderette and private consultation rooms used by visiting professionals.

Our dining room is truly the heart of our home, a warm, sociable space where good food and good company come together. While our dining rooms are undeniably elegant — with high ceilings, beautiful views, and a grand feel — what truly makes them special is the warm, friendly atmosphere created by the people who fill them. The space balances a sense of grace and tradition with the genuine comfort and cosiness of home.

Many residents enjoy dining together and sharing conversation, while others prefer the comfort of a quieter mealtime in their room. All meals are freshly prepared on-site by our in-house chef, using seasonal, locally sourced produce to create wholesome and delicious dishes every day.

A much-loved feature of The Lindens is Tiffany’s Tea Room, a cosy, cheerful space open to residents, respite guests and visitors. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy tea, coffee and homemade cake, surrounded by beautiful garden views and artwork created by our residents. Tiffany’s is a favourite meeting place, full of laughter and conversation.

We’re also proud to have our own hairdressing salon. For many of our residents, a visit to the salon is more than just a trim; it’s a boost of confidence and self-esteem, helping people feel refreshed, dignified and cared for.

At The Lindens, every shared space is designed to bring people together, encourage independence and boost quality of life.

Gardens

Set within beautiful countryside surroundings, The Lindens’ landscaped and meadow gardens are a peaceful retreat where residents can enjoy fresh air, sunshine and gentle exercise, which are all crucial for wellbeing and happiness.

The majestic Wellingtonia Tree (originally named for the Duke of Wellington and now classified as Sequoiadendron giganteum) sits at the front of the property. It has welcomed visitors to the site for over 100 years.

The gardens are fully wheelchair accessible and thoughtfully furnished with comfortable seating areas, so residents can relax outdoors, enjoy the views, or share a quiet moment with loved ones. The Grand Union Canal forms the boundary line of our property and provides a habitat for many small creatures.

Whether it’s tending to flowers, listening to the birds, or feeling the breeze on your face, our gardens offer a true sense of calm, freedom and belonging.

Mum was at the Lindens for about three years, they are very caring, helpful, understanding, supportive I could go on, they looked after her till her peaceful end and we would like to say a big thank you, it’s one of the best homes I’ve seen.
