Our care

Quality care at Blissful Care Homes

At Blissful Care Homes, we are united by one mission: to support older people to live happier, healthier and more fulfilling lives in comfortable and safe surroundings.

When it comes to delivering quality care, we focus on the preferences, desires, goals and aspirations of the individual, celebrating their abilities and championing their needs.

This approach enriches the lives of the people we care for, giving them the very best care and support and ensuring that they are respected, cherished and safe.

Our ultimate goal for everyone at Blissful is happiness.

Residential care

Our high quality residential care provides support with daily living in comfortable surroundings.

Sometimes referred to as personal care, residential care is ideal for those who have started to struggle with independent living. This type of care offers assistance with daily tasks such as cooking, washing and personal care, as providing an opportunity forge friendships, engage in activities and reduce social isolation.

Crucially, having access to round the clock care allows people to focus on the things that make them happy, whether that’s relaxing with a book, getting lost in hobbies or chatting with friends. Our residential care enriches lives and provides peace of mind.

My mother is very happy and her needs are taken care of to a high standard. She is always dressed nicely including the accessories she likes. The staff are friendly and caring. There are many varied activities that mum enjoys and participates in. The staff respond to mum’s needs appropriately and relatives and visitors are made welcome at any time.

Nursing care

Specialist trained teams

Nursing care residents have access to all of the help and support offered in a residential setting, with additional access to 24/7 nursing care. Nursing care homes are suited to more specialist health requirements, with access to trained teams who have the expertise required to care for residents’ varying medical needs and requirements.

At Blissful Care Homes, we focus on the individual, developing tailored care packages that enable our residents to live a safe, happy and healthy lifestyle. As part of this, our nursing teams are trained to work in partnership with outside healthcare providers to ensure a holistic approach which puts continuity and quality of care at the very heart of what we do.

Dementia Care

Our dementia care focuses on each individual’s strengths, abilities and preferences

Our specialist dementia care is focussed on recognising the needs, capabilities and preferences of each individual. As such, our support is based on enabling each resident to continue to do the things they enjoy for as long as possible, and on tailoring care to meet changing needs.

Our dementia care homes focus on creating dementia-friendly environments which ease the stress and confusion which is often associated with dementia. This includes using picture signs for accessibility, creating memory boxes, specialist sensory rooms and using contrasting colour schemes to help with identifying rooms.

End of life care

Handling end of life care with dignity and respect

At Newday Nursing Home, we provide sensitive and compassionate end of life care. We believe that everyone deserves dignity and respect as they approach the end of their life and we do everything in our power to ensure that people are kept calm and comfortable, with their medical, emotional and physical needs met.

Our end of life care extends to supporting family at this difficult time. Our caring and compassionate team will help you to understand what to expect and be with you during your time of need.

Additional support services

Meeting the needs of every individual at Blissful

In addition to the core care services we offer at Blissful Care Homes, we recognise that growing older can often come hand in hand with mobility issues. Our homes are equipped with specialist nursing beds, hoists and aides which are designed to offer additional assistance to those in need.

We understand the importance of good mental health at all times of life. Conditions such as dementia – and the stress of growing older – can result in depression, irritability and poor mental health. Our caring and compassionate teams are trained to look for changes in behaviour and work with outside providers to deliver specialist care that meets the needs of every individual.
