Dementia memory boxes are boxes that contain an item or items that are meaningful in some way to a person or environment. This may be a treasured personal item, or an object that someone with dementia can associate with their past. Broadmead arranged for relatives to create memory boxes for residents these where personalised to each resident , The boxes consisted of things residents enjoy and memories from the past. The boxes had lots of things in animal toys to chocolate, alcohol and treats. Old magazines photographs. This was a well enjoyed but emotional day this encouraged reminiscence and laughter.
