Tonight has been an evening of fun, sparklers and celebration!
We have been busy lighting sparklers in the garden to commemorating the Gunpowder Plot of 1605, when Guy Fawkes and fellow conspirators attempted to destruct Parliament and assassinate James I of England.
A traditional British celebration, everyone in the community was celebrating, so the sounds of fireworks filled our neighbourhood. We were lucky to catch some glimpses of the fireworks around the neighbourhood, whilst we also lit our own sparklers and had a cheer and a laugh!
Celebrating Bonfire Night can benefit the elderly by providing a sense of community, triggering positive memories through sensory stimulation, boosting mood, and reducing potential feelings of isolation, especially when incorporating familiar traditions like food and music and also allowing for reminiscing about past celebrations.
Thanks to our wonderful staff team for making this a special night for us all!
