Today has been great fun and laughter as we have been practicing our target throwing with cans and bean bags!
Our Activities team have been working with residents in small groups for these target practice games as well as playing with our residents who need 1:1 care, in their room.
It is so important to engage all residents with fun and engaging activities throughout the day, to keep them mentally and physically stimulated.
Games such as target practice help with positive social interaction making residents feel better physically and mentally, releasing endorphins which can improve mood and reduce stress. They can also help with balance and coordination and contribute to the reduction in falls. Exercise can help improve muscle flexibility, which can help with sitting, standing, and walking, all things that can be a challenge for our elderly residents.
If you have any ideas for useful and engaging games we can play, do get in touch! We would love to hear from you!
