Today, we were treated to a very special visit at Bricklehampton Hall – Sam, a much-loved former member of our domestic team, popped in to say hello… and she brought along her sweet dog Toffee!
Toffee was a hit with residents and staff alike, happily lapping up attention and spreading joy wherever those little paws went. The smiles were instant, and the room was filled with warmth and laughter — just look at those faces!
The Power of Pets in Care Homes
Animal visits, especially from friendly dogs like Toffee, can have a wonderful impact on residents:
-
Comfort & Companionship: Dogs provide a calming, affectionate presence that lifts mood and reduces feelings of loneliness.
-
Stimulation & Engagement: Petting, talking to, and simply being near animals can help stimulate memory, especially for those living with dementia.
-
Social Spark: Visits like these create moments of connection, conversation, and joy among residents and staff.
We’re so grateful to Sam for thinking of us — and for sharing her lovely Toffee with the home. You’re both welcome back any time!
